In the field of literature, Professor Li also made great accomplishments which focus mostly on Voltaire. Her monograph The Image of Voltaire in China (written in French and published by Hongkong Quaille Press in 2010), shows, from a phenomenological perspective, an objective view out of the illusion of time by incorporating the philosopher Derrida’s principles; it also accentuates on the situation of the thinker as well as the writer. The book digs deeply into Wittgenstein’s rich thoughts on "language games" as well. Some of the critical assumptions in this book can be used for other studies on Voltaire. Sylvain Menant, a tenured professor of Paris-Sorbonne University who specializes in the study of Voltaire, gave this book a high compliment in the preface, saying that“this book contributes greatly to the mutual understanding between French people and Chinese people”.

Furthermore, Professor Li Yanming’s articles in the fields of translation and French literature have been published in prestigious journals such as Chinese Translators Journal, Foreign Literatures, Contemporary Foreign Literature, etc. Her name is one of the entries of Encyclopedia of China’s Contemporary Translators. She has been twice awarded the Special Translation Prize from the Ministry of Culture of France.
